Air Conditioning Repair
You'll always be told honestly whether your unit can be repaired or needs replacing, with the information to decide for yourself before anyone quotes anything.
The reading that tells you repair is enough
Efficiency Experts, Inc. will always be honest with you. We'll let you know whether your unit can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced, so you have the information you need to make the decision yourself rather than take our word for it. Free estimates are part of that, with no charge for the visit that produces the answer. One of our Google reviews describes exactly what that looks like in practice. After a customer received an outrageous quote from another provider, Todd looked at the system himself and found it had life left in it. Instead of selling a replacement, he got two more years out of the existing unit and kept the cost where it belonged.
When repair genuinely runs out
That same customer called back when the unit started taking longer to cool. This time the reading came back differently. Todd came out on a Monday for the service call, and a new system was installed by Thursday, crane and all, for a townhome in The Heights. Repair is the answer until it stops being the honest one, and then the same crew that tried to save the old unit is the one that replaces it. Matt Neff had the simpler outcome on his call: the fix took minutes, and he left knowing how to maintain the system himself so the next call out is further away.

What happens between the call and the recommendation.
The system gets read before anything is quoted. The split across the coil, the state of the filter and returns, the charge, and what the ductwork is fighting. Those readings are what separate a repair from a replacement, and they are the reason customers keep writing that they were told to keep the unit they already had.
You get told plainly whether the unit can be repaired or whether it genuinely needs replacing, along with the information behind that answer, so the decision stays yours. Estimates are free, and one recent customer had a service call on the Monday and a new system in by the Thursday once the reading said it was time.
Worth knowing
A weak system is more often an airflow problem than a refrigerant one. A starved return or leaking duct will make a healthy compressor look finished, which is exactly the case where a replacement quote is the wrong answer.
